With over a decade of service to coastal and marine conservation efforts in Ghana, Caroline has built a reputation as a dependable and versatile team player, blending her strengths in gender and social inclusion, administrative support, logistics coordination, and community engagement.
Caroline holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, which has provided her with a strong foundation in organizational management, financial procedures, and administrative functions. Over the years, she has played diverse and impactful roles within Hen Mpoano, supporting not only program implementation but also assisting the Finance Department, supporting the Logistics Officer, and performing secretarial and clerical duties. Her tasks have included managing records, preparing meeting minutes, coordinating procurement and field logistics, and ensuring smooth administrative operations across multiple projects.
In her most recent assignment, Caroline served as the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Officer under the Women in Fisheries Against Violence and Exploitation (WiFVEs) Project, which concluded recently. In this capacity, she was instrumental in designing and executing activities that addressed gender-based violence (GBV), promoted women’s empowerment, and fostered inclusive participation of marginalized groups within coastal fishing communities in the Western and Central Regions of Ghana. She worked closely with women involved in fish processing and trading, advocating for their safety, economic resilience, and access to justice. Her contributions helped establish referral pathways, support systems, and sensitization programs that empowered women and communities to challenge harmful social norms and protect survivors of abuse.
Caroline’s holistic approach to development integrates gender-sensitive programming with hands-on support to administrative and operational functions. Her strong interpersonal skills, community rapport, and deep cultural understanding enable her to work effectively at the intersection of policy, practice, and grassroots engagement. She is widely respected among colleagues and community partners for her reliability, empathy, and unwavering commitment to equity and social justice.
Her ongoing contributions to Hen Mpoano reflect a unique blend of technical expertise, organizational support, and grassroots advocacy—all of which continue to make a meaningful difference in advancing inclusive, sustainable development along Ghana’s coast.
