Landscapes, Aquatic System Dynamics and Livelihood Initiatives
Daniel Doku Nii Nortey is a dedicated Programme Officer leading landscapes and livelihood initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and community resilience. With specialized expertise in ecological assessments, mangrove restoration, and green enterprise development, Daniel plays a key role in designing and implementing nature-based solutions that benefit both ecosystems and local livelihoods.
Daniel is currently pursuing a PhD at the African Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast. His research focuses on assessing the status of mangrove resources and identifying the key drivers of their degradation along Ghana’s coast—work that directly informs and strengthens the NGO’s restoration and conservation strategies.
Combining academic rigor with field-based experience, Daniel supports the integration of science and community knowledge to restore critical habitats, strengthen climate resilience, and foster sustainable economic opportunities in vulnerable coastal landscapes.
His passion for ecosystem restoration and inclusive development continues to inspire innovative projects that contribute to both conservation and human well-being.
