Our Mission is to provide technical, policy and extension support to actors in government, private sector and civil society through capacity building, research, networking and project development in fisheries and coastal ecosystem governance.

SECRIFISE_Law Enforcement Activity Report
A series of workshops were organized by Hen Mpoano for Law enforcement officers drawn from include Anti- Human trafficking Unit of the Ghana Police, Ghana Immigration, Economic and Organized crime Office (EOCO) and FBI and staff of the attorney general’s department. The second phase of the training also brought to the training, members constituting child protection structures at the grassroots such as the DCPC, assembly men, CCPCs and child rights advocates in addition to law enforcement.
Hen Mpoano begins Tree Planting in Cape Three Points Forest
Through the French Embassy funded PISCCA program, Hen Mpoano together with fringing communities are raising ten thousand (10,000) native tree seedlings to reforest fragmented areas to connect terrestrial forest to the coastal wetland.
Hen Mpoano trains forest monitoring teams on the use of SMART tools
Hen Mpoano trained forest monitoring teams on the use of SMART tools to conduct monitoring. It was the first among a series of trainings targeted at stakeholders to facilitate efficient monitoring of protected areas and tracking of changes to support decision making and enforcement of regulations protecting the flora and fauna.
What We Do

Our approach to fisheries governance is through research, multi-stakeholder engagements and policy advocacy for sustainable fisheries management.

We adopt integrated and participatory approaches to coastal landscape issues and work at multiple scales, deploying a wide range of tools.

We design and implement sustainable livelihood interventions geared towards reducing poverty and food insecurity in communities we work.

Our gender programme area addresses gender needs by conducting gender assessment and analyses; development of gender mainstreaming strategy.
